TRTC Literary Nights: Ray Bradbury & Fahrenheit 451

Join the Garfield County Libraries and Thunder River Theatre Company in celebrating the author Ray Bradbury
and this year's Big Read book, Fahrenheit 451.

Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library
Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Grand Valley High School in Parachute
Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Rifle Branch Library
Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. in Carbondale at Thunder River Theatre.

TRTC's Artistic Directors Lon Winston and Valerie Haugen will present a fascinating hour-long program about Ray Bradbury, his life-long love of books and writing, with a focus on his story of book-burning Fahrenheit 451. Bradbury couldn't afford to go to college, so instead he went to the library. He claims to have graduated from the library when he was 26 years old. Bradbury has published more than 500 works in his literary career, and is still writing daily. Bradbury says that libraries raised him..."I believe in libraries. I am a library person. What touches a library, touches me." Everyone is invited to celebrate this inspirational author throughout the month of February. The Big Read is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and Arts Midwest. TRTC offers its free Literary Nights through its Educational Outreach Program. For more information visit online at www.garfieldlibraries.org.
