BERNICE / BUTTERFLY
By Nagle Jackson
June 17-19, 25-27, July 1-3, 2010
That rare animal, a play that makes you laugh as well as think. It is the stuff of great literature.
Jackson takes two seemingly disparate characters and makes them universal.
The play finishes with a revelation, a potent finale for a potent piece of theatre.
Directed by Lon Winston
Starring Valerie Haugen & Richard Lyon, with Billy Challis
WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF?
By Edward Albee
Sept.24 (Preview), 25 (Opening), 26, Oct. 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 2009
This play proclaimed Edward Albee as a major American playwright, who went on to win three Pulitzer Prizes.
Did you know that WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? was voted to receive the Pulitzer Prize in 1963,
but the committee at Columbia University refused to award the prize because of the “content” of the play --
“a profanity-laced quartet that comments on the corruption of American values and the nature of illusion.”
Yet, it was a succés de scandale and has gone on to achieve the status of a modern classic.
American playwright John Guare wrote: "You can't imagine the debt that every American playwright
writing after 1960 owes to Edward Albee."
Featuring TRTC resident actors, Valerie Haugen, Jeff Carlson, Charlie DeFord and Holly Freeman.
Directed & Designed by Lon Winston
VISITING MR. GREEN
By Jeff Baron
Dec. 3-5, 11-13, 17-19, 2009
A cannily crafted comedy about friendship, family, and forgiveness.
It is doubtful you are likely to encounter a play more enjoyable, more honestly funny and in the end,
more moving than this delightful play. It has become one of the most-produced plays in the world.
Featuring TRTC's RIchard Lyon and guest actor Gerald DeLisser
Directed by TRTC's Brad Moore
THE GLASS MENAGERIE
By Tennessee Williams
Feb. 25-27, March 5-7, 11-13, 2010
A drama of great tenderness, charm and beauty,
THE GLASS MENAGERIE is one of the most famous plays of the modern theatre.
This production, directed by Lon Winston,
will feature Valerie Haugen as Amanda Wingfield,
one of William’s most celebrated characters.
