You have a chance to do something really different. Something that will have you coming away saying “Wow!” You’ll be fascinated. Riveted to your seat. The time will literally fly by. You’ll be sorry when it’s over.
The guy (Lon Winston) will probably make the hair crawl on the back of your neck. Even though he hardly ever raises his voice, he’s a powder keg, ready to explode. The lady? (Valerie Haugen) You might feel frightened for her, too. Not of; FOR. At least in the beginning. NOT for long. As you watch, you get the feeling that you’re no longer watching. You’re getting sucked in. You’ll feel like you’ve left your body, and started watching yourself.
This thing is good. Really good. I mean professional theatre and solid performances right here in Carbondale. Valerie Haugan and Lon Winston are simply terrific. These two are at the edge. And somebody just pushed them. Their understated performance is an explosion. Supporting cast, Jim and Sue Hontz, are so convincing you won’t even recognize them. Your emotions will be snapped like a rubber band stretched from here to Paris, Texas. It’s like a roller coaster high. Laughter to a wrenched gasp. Your breath will actually catch in your throat. Especially at the end. Wait until you see what happens at the end. Look...just go see it.
